Angledool Progress Association
Chairperson | Kathleen Cramer |
Treasurer | Geoff Cramer |
Secretary | Michelle Pymble |
Next Meeting | 14th of November, 2007 |
There are 22 members of the association. We held our first meeting in the Angledool Fire Shed.
The committee was formed so that the residents have more control over improvements for the village. We are currently applying for grants to assist us financially with the Clean up Angledool Project. We are hoping to construct a fence around the Angledool tip. This is to prevent stray plastic bags and pieces of paper etc, from blowing down into the village. We are also going to focus on the clean up of the banks of the weir at Angledool, as the banks are an unsightly mess of bottles, broken glass, tryes, drums and general rubbish. We are hoping to also host an annual clean up Angledool day, to help keep Angledool looking tidy.
The committee has also assisted council with the organising of water to be carted to the village. This happens every Sunday. The Narran River at Angledool has just about dried up. We are hoping that Council will install a bore in the near future, but won't hold our breaths on that happening.

First the community has formed the Angledool Progress Association on October 17 2007. This association has been formed so that the residents of Angledool have a better chance at making improvements to the village without having to rely on Brewarrina Shire for things to be done around the village.
The Narran River at Angledool has just about ran dry, duke to no release of water from St George in Queensland for at least 600 days now. Brewarrina Shire has organized water cartage for the residents, with water delivered on Sunday's. Brewarrina shire managed to get us a 90% subsidy through the state government project and we pay $3.73 per 1000L of water. We have an allocation of 120L per person per day. There is 34 people living in Angledool.
We are also in the process of gaining funding from various government bodies and private business's, so that we can contribute to the costs of a fence to surround the Angledool Tip. We are also very keen to clean up the weir area at Angledool. We are planning on a clean up day for Angledool, followed by an annual clean up Angledool day.
