RAILWAY INFORMATION

Local councils do have some information about communities located within their boundaries. You can access this information through the Local Council site through the link found on Local Information Section of this site.

Binnaway - from the aboriginal word meaning peppermint tree

The community lies to the south of Coonabarabran and nestled into the rich western slopes. Agriculture is the prime industry.

Within easy access of the town are a number of natural attractions including the Warrumbungle National Park, Coolah Tops National Park, Binnaway Nature Reserve and the Weetalibah Nature Reserve. The area is renowned for its wildflower display during the spring months. Common native birds in the area include Black Cockatoos and Peregrin Falcons.
