BOOMI COMMUNITY CO-OP / ACCOMMODATION / FOOD

Hot Artesian Spa and Pool complex

The pool complex was built in 1976 and the hot spa added in1996. The mineral rich water flows from nearly a mile underground. This original bore at Boomi was opened in 1903 which must have been a remarkable engineering achievement at the time.

The swimming pool complex consists of a cold 25m pool, a children’s wading pool and a hot pool which has two overhead jets. Artesian water comes from deep underground and is rich in minerals, the water can be up to 2 million years old. It has long been known in many cultures that the water has healing and restorative powers.

The Boomi Community Co-Op Pty Ltd operates a shop and caravan park 7 days/week.
The shop/cafe has all the needs of travellers and locals, from groceries to hot food and cappuccinos. The Co-op has also provided a 24hr diesel fuel facility in conjunction with IOR Petroleum.
Please enquire about special packages combining pool entry and caravan park for travellers staying for more than 3 days
Historical tours are available numbers permitting
The Boomi Co-op would like to thank all the people who have donated time and money to this project. The Moree Plains Shire Council has given constant support to our project. FRRR (Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal) funded the ablution block and other items and recently Monsanto has contributed to our Solar project. BATS (Boomi Amateur Thespian Society) has been a constant source of funding for our co-op and many other groups in our area. On top of this we have received financial and other support from caravanners who admire what we are doing for our community and want to be a part of it.
Just visiting us and enjoying our little village is itself a wonderful help and we really appreciate it.
