Local councils do have some information about communities located within their boundaries. You can access this information through the Local Council site through the link found on Local Information Section of this site.

NAME: It is believed that the name is derived from the Aboriginal Name for Grey Kangaroo, which is bandaarr Bundarra is a reasonable size rural centre, lying on the direct route from Uralla to Inverell. This rural township is 47Km south of Inverell and 76Km north west of Uralla. From the township you can proceed west to Bingara (68Km)and south west to Barraba (72Km). Turn off the road to Bingara to access Copeton Dam from the southern side of the wall.

Like most townships of its type, Bundarra is very community oriented. The local show is one of the major events of the year and many community groups function to serve the community.

The local central school takes the children all the way from start to end in one location.
