The town has an interesting history and much of this can be readily seen.

Fishing is a popular attraction to the district Fishing is one of the many attractions in the area, with Murray Cod and Yellow Belly (Golden Perch) being the most sort after species. The records show a 250 pound cod being caught there in 1902 by three bridge workers. Locals are willing to share their knowledge about the good fishing spots.

Day trips are also available to the Gravel Pits of Cumborrah and Collarenabri.
