The Main Street of Wollomombi
Whilst only a small village, it is the centre of activity for the surrounding agricultural region. The main street is formally a portion of the Armidale to Coffs Harbour Road (The Waterfall Way), which now bypasses the village. This view shows a portion of the main street.
Another view of the main street showing the village shop, which also doubles as the local Post Office, Liquor Supply and Tourist Information Office.

The Annual Wood Expo
A major event on the community calendar is held around the middle of September each year. This is the annual Wood Expo where there is much to see and do with the entertainment arising from rural based occupations such as Sheep Dog Trials, Hay Stacking, Post Cutting and many, many more events for all ages. Click on the image below for more photos of the Wood Expo.

The rolling hills around the village give no hint to the massive gorges to be found in the region. This type of view must have given the early explorers of the region a false sense of what was really to be found.
A north east view from the village
The Wollomombi Falls
Less than a kilometre from the village is the magnificent Wollomombi Falls and Gorge. It is hard to belive that this type of country could be a part of what appears to be a gently undulating hill country. The Wollomombi Falls are one of the highest in Australia and during rain periods, give the visitor a magnificient spectacle. Click on the image below for more photos of these spectacular falls.
