The centre of Bellingen offers a great range of shopping and other facilities from the traditional services through to the alternate. This variety makes the town a great place to stop and browse.
Many of the buildings are of considerable historical value to the region, representing the early history of the Bellinger River Valley. The Literary Insitute (now used for the libarary and other community activities) being a typical example of the earlier buildings. |

The Bellinger River runs right through the centre of Bellingen, providing an escape from the town, swimming areas as well as other recreational services. The skateboard facilities are located in this area. |

Various aspects of craft and art are a feature of the Bellingen Community with many outlets for these wares. The Yellow Shed acts as a selling point for many of the local artists. The old Butter Factory has been converted into a craft centre and, with its own cafe, is a 'must' stopover whilst visiting Bellingen. |
