The district of Gilgandra has a population of 5156 people. It is situated 476 miles north west of Sydney, NSW, Australia, on the junction of the Newell, Oxley and Castlereagh highways, with scenic drive to Warrumbungle National Park and Siding Springs and adventures at Western Plains Zoo

Gilgandra has the following facilities: bowls, golf, swimming pool, tennis, a number of hotels, motels and clubs.

Things to see: Aboriginal artifacts, museum, observatory, short distance to Warrumbungle National Park, Western Plains Zoo.

Great country living only 45 minutes to the city of Dubbo (where it boasts the Western Plains Zoo).
